State of Play storytellers have regularly taken part in site-specific storytelling events as part of East Dorset’s Storytelling Festival in August each year: at Knowlton Rings, Allendale House, Holt Forest, Priests House Museum, Wimborne.

Deep Dark Woods

Tales from The Deep Dark Woods

This summer we performed traditional stories celebrating the magic and mystery of forests outdoors in the heart of two of Dorset’s ancient woodlands – Holt Forest, near Wimborne, and at Primrose Wood, Moors Valley Country Park, near Three Legged Cross. Both involved a walk into and out of the forest. Audiences were transported by the stories and the natural beauty of two very special places in Dorset.
