State of Play was international co-ordinator for Breathe – a large-scale disability arts project, involving over 18 learning disabled dancers from Florianopolis, Brazil who came to the UK to work with members of Dorset’s Double Act Disability Theatre and The Remix Integrated Youth Theatre.
Together, they performed BREATHE, written and directed by professional disabled artists Alex Bulmer and Jamie Beddard and produced by Diverse City.
The final production, arising from over 12 months work, was performed on the beach at Weymouth, Dorset, at the launch of the Olympic Games Sailing Events. Around 10,000 people watched the show, which also featured professional artists from Desperate Men and Cirque Bijoux of Bristol.
